9th Annual Bakersfield Police Department K9 Units "Howlin' at the Moon" Fun Run. Saturday, 8/21/10 at the Park at River Walk. Kern County's only night time run. All proceeds benefit the BPD K9 Unit. 2k fun run at 7:30 pm around the park and the 5k & 10k on the bike path at 8:00 pm. Medals in all categories. Duathlon begins at 8:00 am. All other races begin at 8:10. The events support the local SPCA. Two events in 2010. There will be an Irondog triathlon event for owners and their dogs. It will be 3 fun-filled and exciting events. The Sprint Duathlon will start with a 2.5K run, then a 20K bike and finish with another 2.5K run. Registration fees range from $35 to $50 and include shirt, goody bag, and plenty of other items. Online registration is now open and closes October 16. Click on the Active.com link for registration. After October 16, add $10 to entry fee. Responsible Pet Owners and the AKC Agility group will also be on hand for activities and demonstrations throughout the morning.
