June 13 Yokuts Park Fun Run - A chance to get in a little speed work, practice racing, or just show off your new running gear.  These low key out and back trail runs occur on the second Saturday of almost every month and feature no entry fees and no awards.  Just show up around 6:45 to sign up to run a 1,2,3, or 5 mile course.  The 1 mile starts at 7:00, and the 2,3,5 mile courses start after we all finish the 1 mile. Yokuts Park at 7am.
June 16 BTC Summer Series #2 - Yes, they're back.  Come out at 7:00 pm for this series of 5K events.  Points are accumulated over the series and awards will be given at a pizza banquet after it is all said and done.  These are a great way to hone your racing skills over the summer.  Check out the webpage for all of the details.

July 11   Howlin' at the Moon - The Bakersfield Police Department K9 Unit will be hosting the 8th Annual "Howlin at the Moon" Fun Run Saturday, July 11th, at the Park at River Walk (Stockdale & Buena Vista).  $20 if received by the 8th, $25 race day.  The 2k fun run starts at 8:00 pm and the timed 5k and 10k will begin at 8:30 pm.  Come join us for Kern County's only night time run held by the light of the full moon.  Medals for every category.  All proceeds benefit the BPD's K9 Unit.  Contact Officer Andrea Pflugh for more questions at apflugh@bakersfieldpd.us or 661-326-3685. October 31   The 9th annual Ron Fontaine Memorial Dollars for Scholars 5K & 10k run and one mile walk will be held at CALM on October 31st.  The event is presented by Bakersfield South Rotary. Proceeds benefit deserving seniors from Ridgeview, Stockdale and South High Schools.   This scenic run along the Kern River and Lake Ming has become a local favorite.  Medals to the top three in each 5 & 10k category.  T-shirt included with registration.  Follow us on Twitter @ronsrun.  Registration forms available, soon.
