Living Green Kern River Valley Festival taking place March
17–21, 2010.
www.LivingGreenKRV.org This year’s run is put on by Run-4-A-Way, a local non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health, fitness, and wellness in the Kern Valley community. Proceeds from The Run for Living Green will benefit Run-4-A-Way & the Living Green Kern River Valley Festival. Course: The 5K & Little Kids’ Race will be run adjacent to Lake Isabella through Wofford Heights Park (Not on public streets) on a flat dirt trail along the lake shore with 2 small stream crossings. Fees: 5K = $25 if you pre-register before March 18, $30 after. Kids’ Race is FREE! Kids must be 10 or under on race day. Sponsorship: Get family, friends, businesses, etc. to sponsor you. The sponsorship form is below or attached. Sponsorship funds are due prior to or on the day of the race. Prizes: All paid/sponsored entrants receive an eco-friendly stainless steel water bottle & eco-conscious event T-shirt (others can buy a stainless steel water bottle for $5 and/or an event T-shirt for $10). To be sure to get a T-shirt in your size on the day of the race, you need to have registered before March 18. Start: At Wofford Heights Park, end of Williams St. at E Evans Road, Wofford Heights, CA. Kids’ race starts first at 7:45 am, sharp! 5K races start at 8:00 am. Parking: Limited parking at the Wofford Heights Park parking lot at end of Williams Street at East Evans Road in Wofford Heights and along the streets nearby. Same weekend as the Paso Robles Zinfandel Festival -make a weekend of it! 1st place male and female half marathon finishers win their weight in wine. Other events are the ˝ Marathon Walk, a 5K and a kid’s 1/2 mile “Grape Stomp”. Something for everyone! Post-race breakfast, tech race shirt, music, bib number drawing prizes, and lots more. will take place at Yokut's Park in Bakersfield at 8:30 a.m. The 5K
and 10K Rabbit Run is $30. The kids Bunny Run is
$15. All pre-registered runners get a t-shirt, goodie bag, and BBQ
lunch (yes, even the kids!!) Watch for "Easter Egg Surprises"
along the trail. Pre registration closes on March 26, but you can still register on race day... no guarantees on getting a shirt, though. |

Biathlon begins at 9:00 am. All other races begin at 9:15. The events support the local SPCA. Two events in 2010. There will be an Irondog triathlon event for owners and their dogs. It will be 3 fun-filled and exciting events. The Sprint Biathlon will start with a 2.5K run, then a 12.4-mile bike and finish with another 2.5K run. Registration fees range from $20 to $45 and include shirt, goody bag, finisher's medal and post race BBQ (sponsored by Moo Creamery). Online registration opens July 1 and closes October 23. All participants must be pre-registered by October 23. There will be NO race day registration. More information will be made available in the coming months | |
